Norwood Commercial Printing
Hero Campaign: Video Production
01. Background
Approached by Norwood Industries to head the production for an entire rebranding campaign, Enamoured Iris worked alongside the client to forge a vision that would embody their shifting business model yet remain faithful to the company’s core ideals.
The new model saw a move towards more innovative forms of printing for corporate and commercial clients. Requiring a playfulness that re-established Norwood in the changing Australian marketplace, this advertisement ultimately served the purpose of making them more relatable to the consumer.
02. Insight
Identifying printer failures as a manifestation of the human/machine conflict, the melodramatic scenario infused satire with familiar filmic references to make the brand appear more relatable to stakeholders.
Combined with the copy ‘Print without drama’, the homage to Kubrick’s work, humorously positions Norwood as the approachable solution for printing needs.
Traditionally associated with the horticultural industry, the Australian print company desired video production that foregrounded its playful identity to corporate and commercial clients.Enamoured Iris
03. Idea
Infusing satire with familiar filmic references, the advertisement pays homage to Kubrick’s ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ to drive home the human v. machine conflict that is at the root of every workplace printer-confrontation.
Stressing the disconnect between the protagonist and the source of his “quest”, the tagline “Print without drama” came organically; emphasising Norwood’s vision as one of Australia’s leading print companies. Paired with a website and social-media overhaul the video “Norwood: A Print Odyssey” was spawned.
